Prayer Update
June 2008
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
(Romans 10:13)
Dear Believers,
We thank the Lord for His wonderful work as He is planting His church here in Manchester, NH. This past week, Pastor Peront and his family traveled down to Pennsylvania to give a report of church progress at the semi-annual meeting of the mission. It is a time where all the missionaries under EICM, Evangelical Independent Church Mission, gather together.
Speaking about church development, one of the jobs the finance committee has been meeting for several weeks about concerns the formulation of a budget as well as general and specific policies for a pastoral pay package for when we transition over from EICM. A constitution needs to be developed also. We are still looking toward the autumn months for this transition to take place, but there is much work to be done prior to that. Please pray for the men as they meet often to seek the Lord for many decisions and policies.
We have wonderful news to share with you. Last month, we asked for prayer for the salvation of the Hipke's neighbor Barbara and also for the international students. The Lord has answered prayer. Barbara finished the last section of the home Bible study, and she opened her heart to trust Jesus Christ as her personal Savior! What a precious moment it was as she knelt and prayed to the Lord to believe in Him. She has been confessing Christ to her family, and is bubbling over with enthusiasm and conversation about Him. She also has been faithful to attend Sunday morning services. Please pray for God's grace in her life as she has some hard decisions coming up as a result of her salvation.
One of the international students, Linda has been asking a lot of questions about the Bible. Recently, she made a sudden decision to transfer to Monterey, CA for college, and was leaving in a few days for China, and then from there to CA. After 10 months of having contact with her, and seeing her so close to salvation, we prayed for an opportunity to lead her to the Lord. Her response to an offer to help her, and also get together to share how to receive Christ as Savior was, "I think I can take care of the present things, what you need to help me most is to introduce me to Jesus, and if tomorrow is a good day, I would love to go to the beach and talk with you there." The next day after sharing a good number of salvation verses, one of the last verses to share was, "Whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved". She asked, "What does it mean to call upon the name of the Lord?" After she was told that it means to call out to Him in prayer to ask Him to save you from your sin, she responded by asking, "Can I do it now?" What a delight to see her desire to communicate with God in prayer, her desire to confess sin, to see the peace of God in her soul, and to see her heart so grateful for the opportunity to be accepted by Him! To God be the glory, great things He has done! ...and to all who prayed for these requests, thank you! Now, we would like to ask for prayer for God to bring her to a good church with believers willing to take her in to disciple her.
Grace Dental Mission recently shared their work in various parts of the world with us during a Sunday evening service. Lauren and Kyle Mueller also gave a report recently concerning their mission trip to Spain. What a blessing to see God's faithfulness in bringing the gospel to so many lost and dark places. Jane Babineau opened her home to her mother to care for her after hip replacement surgery a few weeks ago. Please pray for her mom's salvation, and for strength for Jane to live as a bright testimony before her. Another answer of God's faithfulness is the provision of a new job for Brian Weaver.
We look forward to summer outreach ministries in the city of Manchester. Mike Jones is at the Wild's summer camp this summer working as a counselor. The Lord is doing a wonderful work both in his heart and in the lives of the campers. Last year He headed up a lot of the work with our summer evangelism organizing literature distribution. Please pray for the Lord to raise up a new person with a heart for this work since he will be away.
As you can see, God blessing has been abundant, may He bless you with joy and rejoicing as you share in the fruit-bearing of this work.
With grateful thanks to you for your prayers,
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Author of Salvation,
