Prayer Update
December 2007
Glory to God in the highest
And on earth PEACE, good will toward men.
(Luke 2:14)
Dear Believers,
PEACE be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 6:23 At this time of year, we think of you with joy and are thankful to all of you for sharing this ministry with us by your prayers and support. It is especially appreciated at this time while we seek the Lord for His will concerning a future meeting place. The public hearing which was scheduled for this month for a conditional use permit was canceled due to snow. We praise the Lord and thank Him for this change brought about by His hand. We do not understand the reasons why, but trust in God who knows what will take place tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow etc. The Lord knows best; His will and His way are perfect! And so, Thank you, Lord, for this delay in our plans that You might work out Your perfect will. Trusting in Him, we can have perfect PEACE. The public hearing has been rescheduled for Thursday January 17, 2008.
Because the school was not available for us to use this past Wednesday, we enjoyed cottage prayer meetings in different homes. There is such a special closeness that comes with gathering in this way. Also this month, the Ladies Fellowship organized a Christmas gathering at Amy Peront's home titled, "A Gift of Peace." The focus was evangelistic, and the Lord blessed by bringing many ladies out to hear the gospel of PEACE. Thank you for responding with prayer and asking Him to bring ladies out to this gathering! God answered wonderfully. A few of the guests were family members who we have been bringing before His throne. Another was an old neighbor of the Hipkes, and many of the Asian students observed their very first Christmas celebration. Several of the church ladies were involved in planning the different activities. The young ladies played musical instruments and provided refreshments, other ladies provided a wonderful gift making activity, and others organized music and brought the message. It was such an encouragement to see the ladies serve the Prince of PEACE together so beautifully and in such a God honoring way!
Even though the schedule has been interrupted due to exams, the home Bible study is going well. A new young man named Roxy has come a few times. Kevin, from Taiwan, had his last study with us since he is moving to Boston. About a month ago, his words at the end of our study and discussion about salvation were, " I hope God will accept me." He was able to complete the study on his last evening with us. At the conclusion of this material, a challenge is given to receive Christ. When asked if he had ever received Jesus Christ as personal Savior, it appeared that he had trusted Him about a month ago around the time he spoke his desire for God's acceptance. Although we are sad that he is moving, we are excited to learn of God's work in his heart! We have given him some contact information of missionaries that have an international student ministry in the Boston area. Please pray for him to be able to continue in his newfound faith with these missionaries for discipleship.
We'd also like to ask for prayer for some of the believers here. Cliff and Karen Sumner are expecting their fourth child in January, and the baby is facing forward for delivery. Please pray that little "Jonathan" will turn around, so that he is facing backwards . Also, Ed and Jane Babineau have signed a purchase and sale agreement on a home in Candia. Please pray for the details and a God's hand in the closing of the home, as well as for opportunities to share the gospel with the seller and realtor.
May the PEACE of God which surpasses all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Him during this season.
With love and thanksgiving,
The Manchester Bible Church believers
